The feelings that I felt today…

1. Sleepy- woke up at 6.30 a.m. today, had to prepare for a staff meeting in school

2. Annoyed- it was a clash of technology versus human efficiency today…Had to add some stuff to what I did on the storyboard but somehow I was scratching my brain thinking how to add numbers to a scanned document…silly me…USE WORD ART.

3. Hot- No I don’t mean me as Sexy sultry hot, but HOT WEATHER, sticky skin, sweat…argh

4. Sleepy- Yet again this time right after lunch, I was ready to go to lala land to get that much needed rest but unfortunately a) it was too hot b) mom washing the clothes in the washing machine didn’t help at all

5. Loved- *sigh* loved by everyone in the household, loved by my dearest love…Just one example of the love…bonding with mom over frying turun…mmmm… I’m not a bad turun fryer

6. Full- I’m full from dinner and probably bloated from the coming *ahem* Auntie red which could be in a few hours now or days…

7. Sad- While trying to get some shut eye, I decided to read last year’s ed of Her World, Singapore. One feature that made me weep was the feature on how one woman became a widow before the age of 35. A relationship that lasted 13 years taken away from her and her 3 children. *sob* free flow of tears…

8. Amused- at myself and my colleagues who were once my teachers. Why? This was the first time I attended a full blown staff meeting and the issues that they come up it…arguments on staff seatings, nomination of students who will make the school proud, sticky stuff on the floor??!! the sad fact that the English language is getting worse in St. George (Now that is sad), mentors? Mmmm one thing to really look out for…you don’t know who is watching you.hehehahahahhaehheheahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahah Teachers do have a great sense of humour don’t they?

Wind Power

Monday, March 13th, 2006

I’m hungry…hungry…hungry…yet I’m too lazy to get my butt downstairs to dish something up.Oh well I’ll just wait for the moment when I have all the energy to rise up from this chair…Speaking of Energy, today would be my 20 minute presentation to my colleagues on ENERGY

*Cringe* It has been a while since I had given presentations to the older or same age group as I am. Nervous? Not really yet…perhaps before 1.30 then I’ll start my fidgetting.

But as of the moment I am reading a somewhat interesting fact on winds http://www.windpower.org/en/tour/wres/globwin.htm perhaps you guys could check it out if should ever your ambitions involved becoming a Wind Engineer…I like that name…WIND ENGINEER…say it out loudder…WIIIIIINNNDDDD ENGINNNNEEER…hmmm…definitely a person who is resourceful and cares about mother Earth…I like that!

By the way here’s another interesting fact, about 1 to 2 per cent of the energy coming from the sun is converted to wind energy.

Return to Ashes

Wednesday, March 1st, 2006

Today is Ash Wednesday! For the benefit of those who are not sure what that is, It is the start of the fasting season in the catholic calendar.

Anyways just this afternoon I was trying to figure out what passage was it in the scripture that started the 2000 years of lent. After the years of studying in sunday school…it all came down to this *blank*

Screaaaaaaaam….What the? How could I have forgotten? Am I really that faraway from my faith that I actually forgotten why in the first place Lent started aside from the very fact that Jesus gave his life for us sinners?!

So there I was at the computer Lab, searching for answers at the official catholic website…there wasn’t any thing that could satisfy my growing need to know…until it suddenly hit me…while doing the searches on the internet and in my brain…40 days…40 days…then I REMEMBERED the story of Jesus being baptised by John the Baptist…I remembered how after that he spent 40 days in the desert, fasting…tempted by the Devil to be anything he wanted…to do whatever he wanted without having to suffer for us.

Anyways back to my main issue…the theme for my lent is the return to ashes…from ashes we were made, to ashes we return…Interesting as I was watching children playing while mass was going on…I used to do that…Interesting how everyone I know is either having kids or getting married…Interesting how parents look so old with their greying hair and wrinkled faces…

Soon we’l be facing what our parents are facing too, soon and God’s willing we’ll see our sons and daughters get married…Soon we will return to Ashes…

But at the moment I’m just trying to figure out what should I fast on besides good food?!
